The red writing in the right corner reads,'’it’s sixteen miles to the promised land and I promise you I’m doing the best I can'’(Rilo Kiley, With Arms Outstretched)

mmmmm, Lorca. It’s the first three stanzas of Romanca Sonambulo and reads:
Green, how I want you green.
Green wind. Green branches. The ship out on the sea and the horse on the mountain. With the shade around her waist she dreams on her balcony, green flesh, her hair green, with eyes of cold silver. Green, how I want you green. Under the gypsy moon, all things are watching her and she cannot see them.
Cigarette Burn
At my fingertips, an ash assurance
that all will fall away.

Smoke is silken swaddling
to soothe a sighing heart.
It curls around,
straps and fuses down

Slighted, I kiss the silver serpentine spirals.
Tendrils transparent
like lies in hindsight.
With a glowing gasp I give them leave,
to dance unseen with starry lovers.

From the lighter’s grit and grind,
I breathe my heat
and stomp it out
with the forgiveness of concrete.
